Lunch at La Luna

Today my family decided to dine out for lunch. We went to a small restaurant in Carlton North, on Rathdowne Street called La Luna Bistro.

For this occasion I wore my white Zara pants, DVF pink sweater (#sweaterweather), pink Equipment blouse (underneath the sweater), and Christian Louboutin pumps. I wore my hair curly to the side, and kept my makeup simple.

This cosy bistro had me falling in love from the minute I stepped inside. Minimally decorated, La Luna is both comfortable and classy. The music that played added to the relaxed atmosphere, as we listened to Norah Jones and the like.

For entrée we shared pork and fennel sausages, garlic prawns and potato croquettes. I especially loved the croquettes, which were super tasty and served with hummus. For my main meal I ordered gnocchi with a tomato ragù. Usually when I order gnocchi, I cannot finish the entire serving. La Luna clearly have done their research, as the portion size was perfect, and the taste was de-lic-ious!

Who goes to a restaurant and does not order dessert? Definitely not my family. We all love our sweets. Instead of ordering one dessert each, we ordered a sharing plate with mini versions of sweet treats. This included brownies, tiramisu, creme brûlée, chocolate mousse, sorbet and cookies and cream gelato. Within a few minutes, we had finished everything.

Celebrity chef Adrian Richardson should definitely be applauded for creating such a beautiful bistro. I give this lovely spot five stars for it’s superb service and ideal location. If you get a chance, certainly give this place a try.
